Cosmic Christ by Doyle Chappell

Happy Easter! Christ is risen! Rejoice!

May the Risen Rainbow Christ light up your life!

This year Easter falls on the day before Earth Day, so Q Spirit’s 2019 Easter image shows the Cosmic Christ in a stained-glass window by Chicago artist Doyle Chappell. The “Cosmic Christ” refers to Christ who is continually incarnated in all creation. Here he appears with multiple intersecting and nested pink triangles. They repeat a symbol imposed on gay prisoners in Nazi Germany and later reclaimed by the LGBTQ community.  For more info, see my Earth Day article.

Please give now to the Easter offering at my donate page — or click the GoFundMe button below. The Easter offering supports my work at Q Spirit / Jesus in Love for LGBTQ spirituality and the arts.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed during Holy Week!

For the true meaning of Easter, read my commentary on The Passion of Christ: A Gay Vision paintings by Douglas Blanchard.

Eager for even more LGBTQ Easter images?  Check out my previous Easter greetings from 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 and 2018.

In years past I even made videos to wish everybody a happy Easter — near the local mustard flowers and the lavender flowers.

Thank you for the many ways you show support.

Christ is risen indeed! Happy Easter!
