Wren and the Resurrection by Regan O'Callaghan 750 px

Happy Easter! Christ is risen! Rejoice!

May the Risen Rainbow Christ light up your life!

A holy wind is blowing the shroud away to reveal the naked body of the newly reborn Jesus in this year’s Easter image, “The Wren and the Resurrection” by Regan O’Callaghan.  A little wren, perched on the edge of his tomb, is the first witness to the resurrection.  A leafy golden wreath is like wings surrounding the reborn Christ, who still bears the wounds of this crucifixion.  Prints are available in his Etsy shop. O’Callaghan painted it in 2019 for Sherborne Abbey in the English county of Dorset. It can be found there in the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre. O’Callaghan is an artist/priest of Maori/Irish descent based in London. Originally from New Zealand, he moved in 1993 to the United Kingdom, where he studied art and religion, and was ordained by the Church of England. His Saint Sebastian icon is already a favorite of Q Spirit readers.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed during Holy Week!

In years past I even made videos to wish everybody a happy Easter — near the local mustard flowers and the lavender flowers.

Thank you for the many ways you show support.

Christ is risen indeed! Happy Easter!
