Happy Easter! Christ is risen! Rejoice!

May the Risen Rainbow Christ light up your life!

A rainbow rises from the open arms of Christ in this year’s Easter image: “Rainbow Jesus” by Tony Rubino.

Many thanks to the 19 people who contributed to my 2023 Holy Week offering!

Rainbow Jesus opens his arms wide in welcome

Christ stretches his arms wide and a radiant rainbow springs forth in this year’s Easter image: “Rainbow Jesus” by Tony Rubino.  The joyful artwork illustrates Christ’s embrace of all, including the LGBTQ community.  Even his robes shine with rainbow colors.

Rainbows symbolize the LGBTQ community and are also an important Christian symbol. They show the full spectrum of light and stand for God’s promise to support all life on earth. The colors of the rainbow flag reveal the spiritual values of the LGBTQ community in the Rainbow Christ Prayer by lesbian Christian author Kittredge Cherry of Q Spirit and gay theologian Patrick S. Cheng.

Rubino’s “Rainbow Jesus” is available as a poster in a variety of sizes from Etsy and Amazon. The image also appears on T-shirts at Etsy and Amazon. And Etsy even has it on a pillow.

Artist Tony Rubino was born and raised in New Jersey in a first-generation Italian-American Roman Catholic family. His artwork has been featured in museums in the United States, Italy, Scotland and Greece and has been shown in dozens of galleries from Manhattan to Milan, Paris, and many more. He is a multi-talented creator whose internationally syndicated comic strip “Daddy’s Home” sheds light on the life of a stay-at-home dad in more than 250 newspapers and websites. He is the author of 12 books, including his most recent: “The High Points of Sobriety: A Comical Guide to Addiction Recovery.”

Rubino invites Q Spirit readers to check out his other LGBTQ artwork at: https://tony-rubino.pixels.com/art/gay+pride.
