Holy Family by Amy Waltz-Reasonover
And the Word became flesh
and dwelt among us,
full of grace and truth.
— John 1:14

_______
Kittredge Cherry,
Q Spirit and the Jesus in Love Blog
wish you and your loved ones
a most beautiful Christmas!
_______

This year’s Christmas image is “Holy Family” by queer Episcopalian Amy Waltz-Reasonover. She paints androgynous parents with their dark-skinned baby beneath the Christmas star, affirming the holiness of all families, including LGBTQ families. The figures can be identified as Jesus, Mary and Joseph, but her title states that this is not necessarily “the” Holy Family, but simply a holy family.

In addition to being an artist, Waltz-Reasonover describes herself as deaf, musician, writer, mom, spouse, and human rights advocate living outside Houston, Texas. She provides prayer in American Sign Language through the St. Gallaudet Episcopal Deaf Prayer Group on Facebook. _____________________________________________________________________________
